You do not have to be a storyteller to help storytelling survive. Friends are the people who want this to exist, and to put something behind it.
Why this matters
Duckling is a home for emerging visual documentary storytellers who still believe a carefully told story can change how someone sees the world. Keeping that home open takes more than the storytellers themselves. It takes a circle of people who care enough to put something behind it.
Mentoring and sessions
Working photographers, editors, and filmmakers sitting down with people early in their careers, which is the part of this that no algorithm could replace.
Publishing that stays free
Anyone can publish a story on Duckling without paying. That is the door everything else runs through, and it stays open because it is paid for elsewhere.
The year in stories
Every January, we send you the whole picture of what your support paid for. Not a receipt, but a piece of work in its own right, published as a Duckling story so you can view it the way you view everything else here, and pass it on.
- The stories your support helped make, including the ones the seed grant reached.
- What happened during the year: the sessions, the schools, the people who joined.
- The numbers, plainly, including where the money went.

That is the suggested amount. Give more if you want to and can, it goes to the same place. Duckling is a registered social benefit corporation and all revenue goes to the mission.
